Hey everyone I'm doing good. I made it to Honduras and its is
super hot. My new companions name is Elder Ramirez. He is a Latino from El Salvador. He speaks no English so it has been super hard to communicate. It's
good for me though cause it is making me learn faster. Any Spanish i thought i
knew at the MTC doesn't help. I haven't talked too much in lessons but i talk a
little. Everyone is so accepting of the gospel here. Everywhere we go and ask
to teach them the accept. We haven't had one person tell us no. They give us
phone number address and name no problem. We are serving in El Carmen. Its one of
the safer places to be in Honduras. It's so different here. There are dogs
running loose everywhere and cows just wondering around the city. it's so
different. Our house is pretty small no air conditioner and no kitchen really. We
wash dishes by hand and also have to wash clothes by hand and air dry them. no
maids unfortunately. I sleep in a spring twin bed. I've been sleeping good because
we walk and walk and walk. I think i walk more here then i did when i was shed
hunting. My legs are super tired and i'm super tired. I have to buy all water
bottle and there is water that is in bags that buy. Then you tear the bag
of water and drink it out of it. There is american restaurants around but they
are super expensive. I eat a lot of cereal and noodles and rice. We eat at
members house occasionally and some of the things that i've eaten i don't no what
its is. Our last meal with a member was fish and i'm pretty sure is was a
parana. It tasted really good. Definitely don't eat as much as i did when i was
at home. I'm always hungry so i eat everything that is given to me good or bad.
I've had some things that taste nasty but i eat it cause i'm hungry. We have tons
of investigators. We have 3 members scheduled to be baptized this week so will
see how that goes. Also we have 5 scheduled for september 15. We were teaching
this less active member this one evening and he stood up and pulled a gun out
of his pants. He then walked and put it on the book shelf. he didn´t say
anything he just pulled it out Also we were contacting at a wedding and
i was walking teaching people and when i walked around this corner there was a
lady breast feeding her kid with no cover. It caught me way off guard. I guess
its normal for here. A couple nights ago i ate something and like 10 minutes
later my soft skin around my eyes swelled up huge. I think i was allergic to
something in the food. Its super hard but i know it will get easier ounce i
know how to speak. I love you all and hope all is well.

Thank you for all the scriptures I love reading them. That is so awesome you got to go to the temple! I wish that I would have gone to the temple more when I was younger. That has been the highlight of my week to go to the temple here in Guatemala. This week hasn't been too eventful - just learning the language and the Gospel. I leave the mtc this Monday night to fly to Honduras. I'm super nervous but also super excited to get to where I've been called to serve. My instructors tell me not to worry because I will learn most of my Spanish in the field. While my Spanish is getting better it still needs a lot of work.
Oh my companion is a big sleep talker and walker so that pretty entertaining. He sleep talks about every night and yell things like HELP! i think the most that i laugh is at night! anyways doing good and miss you!

It is so awesome
here! This week has been my favorite so far. We went to guatemala city and
handed out Book of Mormons. I was really nervous at first but my companion and
I said a prayer before and I calmed right down. My companion and I handed out 5
Book of Mormons. Most people got 2 handed out. It was one of the best days of
my life. We talked to this guy and he was so inteseted and said he wants me and
my companion to come to his house and teach him more. Unfortnetly we dont get
to teach him but we got his information and gave it to the missionaries
teaching in his area. The hardest thing is speaking spanish. We have to prepare
lessons every day in straght spanish and then teach them to fake investigators.
I also had the oppurtunity to give Elder Townsend a priesthood blessing. He
rolled his ankle super bad playing basketball. His ankle is literally straight
purple. He was on crutches but he is getting better and is walking withought
crutches now so that's good. I've met 3 latinos that I'm super close with. One
is from the Dominican Republic and the other 2 are from Honduras. One of them
from Honduras speaks english very well so he has been helping me with spanish.
His name is Elder Gurar. We found out we can't send pictures anymore so that's
all you get until I get on my mission. Love you tons and have an awesome
summer. I love hearing from u(:
Spanish has been super hard but I am still learning. I've
talked to missionaries that have been out longer then me and some have said they
knew hardly any spanish leaving the mtc. They said it comes to you better in
the field and when you have a companion that speaks fluent and can help you.
Haven't given the talk in spanish yet so that's good. I love you and
miss you guys so much.

Yeah the first week was really slow. But now the time is
flying by. Spanish is still giving me a hard time but i am definitely learning
slowly. I'm starting to understand what people are saying so that has been good.
When i talk to the latinos i have to tell them to speak slower cause they talk
so fast. Right now i have to think really hard about every word i say in
spanish. But its crazy to see the improvements i have made so far. I dont know
if my visa is taken care of yet. Nobody has said anything yet so im guessing
not. The temple was built in 1986 and it is so pretty. Its so nice because its small enough that you never
get lost and there is just something special about the Guatemala temple that i
love. I'm hoping there is a temple i can go to in Honduras but will see. haven't given a talk yet thank
heavens. It will probably happened though. The patience building is going
good. I wish i would of brought ear plugs because the district and my companion
are singers and they never stop. And when they sing there are literally
singing as loud as they can. I've learned just go hang out in other peoples
room. So i talked to this native that lives in Honduras and he told me that its
very dangerous. But he said the gangs love the missionaries. He said they warn
missionaries when and where the shooting fights happened so they can stay out of
the area. He told me of a story that this missionary got robbed and the gangs
found out about it and found who it was and they actually killed the guy and
returned all the missionary stuff back. He also told me that when members give
you food to eat all of it because they are so poor that when they give you food
its a big deal. If you don't eat it its way disrespectful. Yes i love the
pictures keep sending them. Also will you find my patriarchal blessing and type
it too me? Tomorrow we are going to hand out book of mormons to the natives so
im super excited and nervous for that. This Wednesday we will be the old kids
in the MTC. The kids that where here are leaving on there missions this
Tuesday. We will be getting new kids so I'm excited for that.
